Glen Power (Drummer) from the Band, “The Script” visits Coolmine

May 6, 2026

We were delighted to welcome Glen Power, drummer with The Script, to the Music Department in Coolmine recently. Glen spent time meeting both students and staff, creating a truly special and inspiring occasion for everyone involved.

The event began with a warm and enthusiastic welcome. A group of our talented first year music students—Victor Duggan (bass and electric guitar), Lena Napieraj (electric guitar), Lara Scannell Dyer and Franchesca Regulano (acoustic guitar)—were joined by members of staff, Mr. Gerry Flynn (acoustic guitar), Mr. Damian Tully (keyboards), members of the school choir, and the wider audience to perform The Man Who Can’t Be Moved for Glen.

Following this, Mr. Tully led an engaging question-and-answer session, where Glen spoke openly about his journey in music and the road to success. He shared valuable insights into the music industry, along with thoughtful advice on life, encouraging students to stay focused, work hard, and visualise their goals.

The afternoon concluded with a lively sing-along, with Glen joining in on the school drums for performances of The Man Who Can’t Be Moved, Zombie, and Let It Be. He then picked up the guitar and treated us to a memorable rendition of With or Without You by U2.

Students and staff also had the opportunity to chat with Glen, take photos, and collect autographs, making the experience even more personal.

It was a truly memorable afternoon, and everyone left feeling inspired and uplifted. We are sincerely grateful to Glen Power for taking time out of his busy schedule to visit our school and share his experiences with our students.
