Options for 1st Years

As our First Year students complete their Exploratory Term, they will now begin the process of selecting their subject options for the remainder of the Junior Cycle. This is an important stage in their academic journey, and we encourage all families to review the information carefully before decisions are made.

Mr. Walsh has recorded a First Year Options Presentation (see below) for your reference. It outlines the subjects available, provides guidance on choosing wisely, and highlights the possible implications for future Senior Cycle and third-level choices. Please note that your child will receive an options form, which should be completed and returned at assembly on Monday, 15th December 2025.

We ask that you take time to go through the presentation with your child and consider their preferences, strengths, and long-term goals. It is particularly important to read the advice provided by our Deputy Principal, Mr. Walsh, who offers valuable guidance on how subject choices can impact future pathways, including Leaving Certificate subject availability and third-level requirements.
