In Memory of former staff member Denise Kelly

The Coolmine Community School community is deeply saddened to hear of the passing of our former colleague, Denise Kelly.

Denise was a valued member of staff during her time in Coolmine, remembered with great affection and respect by all who worked with her. Her warmth, kindness, and commitment to her students and colleagues left a lasting impression on our school community. Denise had a genuine care for others and contributed greatly to the positive, welcoming atmosphere that defines Coolmine.

Denise had a wonderful career in Education, having commenced her teaching career and leadership of the TY programme here at Coolmine, before advancing through a distinguished path in education. Over the years, she held a diverse range of roles – from classroom teacher to Principal to her work with Junior Cycle development in NCCA – culminating in significant leadership responsibilities where she supported curriculum development, staff mentoring and school improvement across multiple settings. Her professional journey demonstrated a deep commitment to fostering high-quality teaching and learning, and she invariably drew upon the foundations she built during those early years in Coolmine to inspire and support colleagues and students alike.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to her family and friends who mourn her loss. Our thoughts are with them at this very sad time.
