Information for Incoming Parents 2025/2026

We are very much looking forward to seeing you on the 16th June at 6.30pm for our ‘Welcome to Coolmine’ evening for parents & guardians. Coolmine is a school where your child will learn new things, discover their talents, and make friendships that can last a lifetime. The team at Coolmine are here to support the transition to post primary, and we’re here to help you and your child every step of the way.
Ahead of this information evening, we would like to provide you with the following information to support you in planning for your child’s start with us in September. See key points below:
- Uniform – The school uniform can be purchased from Grants https://grantsclothing.ie/category/coolmine/ Grants have a shop in Coolmine (Grants Coolmine Branch D15 HW0X) and you can also purchase the uniform online. Students wear their uniform in full every day except on the days that they have PE.
- PE Tracksuit – The PE tracksuit can be purchased from KSport https://ksport.ie/collections/coolmine-community-school Please note that Ksport will be in the school on Saturday the 28th June from 10.30am-12.30am if you want your child to try on the uniform. Students wear their PE tracksuit on the days that they have PE.
- Books and Stationery – Please do not purchase any school books or stationery. They are provided free of charge through the free school books scheme
- Administration Fee – Your child has completed or will complete the CAT4 assessment before they start first year. They will also complete a reading assessment on entry to first year and participate in an accelerated reader programme. To facilitate these assessments we ask that you pay a €100 administrative fee.
