Global and Green Schools visit to TUD, Blanchardstown

May 27, 2025

First, Second and Fifth year students along with Miss O’Hora and Miss Maher-Donohoe recently visited TUD, Blanchardstown. The purpose of this visit was to meet with head gardener, Lee Geoghegan who manages the GLAS Community Garden in TU Dublin.

Lee guided the students on a tour of the garden, explaining the various crops he was cultivating. Under his supervision, they planted potatoes, cauliflower, and broccoli, gaining hands-on experience in sustainable gardening. They also prepared a special feed for the tomato plants in the greenhouse and ensured the diverse range of crops were well watered.

As part of the visit, the students experienced the art of podcasting, learning how to create their own recordings and even producing one themselves!

It was a fantastic experience for our students, and Lee has kindly invited them to drop by over the summer months—he’d be more than happy to have their help! A huge thank you to Sinead Dunne and Susan Califf at TU Dublin for their efforts in organizing this event.  Miss O’Hora
