50th Anniversary Celebrations 18th-20th May

50th Celebrations Coolmine Community School

Coolmine Community School will celebrate its’ 50^th Anniversary with three days of activities to mark the occasion: Thursday 18^th, Friday 19^th, and Saturday 20^th May 2023.

Thursday 18^th May – Fun Day (8.45 am to 3 pm for students, note that lunch is from 12 pm-1 pm)

This is a day of fun activities for all students which will take place on school grounds. Phoenix FM will broadcast from the school between 10-12noon on the morning of the ‘Fun Day’.

Each year group will take part in a range of activities including a walk in millennium park, a range of outdoor activities on school grounds (basketball, rounders, egg and spoon, inflatables etc.) and a range of indoor activities including:

Logo challenge, Finish the lyrics, Teacher photos, Brain teasers, Match the socks, Board Games, Art challenge, Table Tennis, Karaoke, Zumba

Each year group will be identified by a colour

1^st years – Red, 2^nd years – Orange, 3^rd years – Green, 5^th years – Purple, 6^th years – Blue

Supervising teachers will wear a t-shirt in the colour of the group and students will wear wristbands in the colour of their year group.

Friday 19^th May 2023 – Sharing memories (Students are in from 8.45 am-11 am)

9 am-11 am: Photographic exhibition available for students to view. Playoff matches between pupils and teachers

12.30 pm-4 pm: Past and Present staff and Boards of Management view the photographic exhibition and share memories.

4 pm-5 pm: Photographic exhibition open to Past pupils and the general public

Saturday 20^th May 2023 – Sharing Memories

10 am-1 pm Past Pupils and the general public share memories and view the photographic exhibition plus never before seen cine film recordings of the opening days of Coolmine.

All members interested in viewing the exhibition and revisiting past memories of the school are welcome to meet and chat on Saturday morning between 10 am – 1 pm.
