Creative Engagement Exhibition – November 2019

November 22, 2019

With a transition year group, we are looking at the seventeen United Nations sustainable development goal (SDG’s) and generating an artistic response to the goals and issues surrounding them.

Students produced a large textile piece as a visual representation of all seventeen sustainable development goals.

Students learnt about how traditional textile crafts such as embroidery, quilting, knitting etc. have been used across various cultures and communities in protest and in raising of political or social issues – Trade union movement, suffragettes, aids quilt, CND protests on Greenham common…

Students produced individual responses as part of a large group piece which we displayed at the 7th Annual Exhibition run by the NAPD in the National Indoor Sports Arena, Blanchardstown on Tuesday 19th of November.
