Green Jersey Day (in aid of the Jordan Needham Medical Care Fund)
On Wednesday 11th May 2016, the students of Coolmine held a special fundraising even for Jordan Needham, a fifth year student. Jordan has been absent from school due to serious illness since December and has undergone extensive medical treatment for his illness. Thankfully, he is making a good recovery.
For the past few weeks, several local fundraising events have been held to support Jordan in his medical care and treatment. The students in Coolmine were keen to make their own contribution to Jordan’s medical care. A group of his friends decided to organise a Green Jersey Day.
The student body in Coolmine pulled out all the stops and made an extraordinary contribution to his cause. Jerseys of all counties, clubs and colours were sported on the day, including t-shirts with the slogan ‘Team Jordan’. In total, Green Jersey Day raised €1,215.
Throughout this fundraising activity, the students in Coolmine Community School have sent out a very clear message of solidarity with Jordan and his family as he recovers from his illness.
Well done to the students of Coolmine and best wishes to Jordan and his family.
