Martial Arts in Coolmine

November 26, 2014

A big well done to our first year student who won a bronze medal in a recent Martial Arts competition. The school enjoyed a proud day on November 26th when the combined efforts of Coolmine students was enough to win the award for best overall school in the All-Ireland Schools Judo Championships. There were many medals brought home that day. Kerrie Gibbons and Jemma Austin both won gold as well as Lee Gibbons, James Smith and Kenny Mokhonoana. Andre Deac and Gary Austin won silver in their categories and Josh O Sullivan won Bronze. A special mention must go to James Smith who won player of the day and is a huge talent. He showed great discipline and controlled skill to beat his opponents. No All-Ireland title in any discipline is easily won so well done to all those involved.
