Coolmine’s Highly Commended Artist
The law firm Walkers Ireland recently launched a art competition open to second level students in Dublin city and county.
The art competition, entitled “A Day in the Life of Dublin”, called on students to submit their impressions on what Dublin means to them. The judging panel featured Rashers (one of Ireland’s best known contempory artist), Frances Coughlan (a famed local artist from Dublin) and Vicki Hazelden (Walkers Ireland Managing Partner).
Aideen Farrell entered the competition with her wonderful piece depicting a rainy day in Dublin. The faceless people reflected the anonymity of city life. Aideen’s painting was one of eight that was selected in the category of highly commended. She attended an awards ceremony in the Walker’s office. She received a wonderful goodie bag and a digital print of her original.
We are very proud of Aideen and we believe she has a wonderful future ahead of her in Art if she chooses to pursue a career in that area.
