First Year World Soccer Blitz

The class of 3 Pearse organised a Soccer Blitz  for the first year students as part of their Action Project for C.S.P.E.  We collected €1 from first year students. Names were entered into a draw with the winner receiving a €10 UCI voucher and the runner up receiving a €5 UCI voucher. Proceeds of the event were donated to the charity Goal.

Each group of first years chose a country as their team name.  A series of heats were held during the week of Monday 13th of October culminating in the final on the following Friday. The runners up the ‘Jamican’ team made up of students from 1 Conn. The ‘Nigerian’ team  represented by 1 Neagh were the overall winners .

The football tournament was a great success and both our class and the first years thoroughly enjoyed the event.
