Coolmine Community School Talent Show Heats 2007

On Monday 15th  and Tuesday 16th of January at Coolmine Community School auditions for the 2007 Talent Show took place. Adjudicators certainly had a difficult task in deciding which acts deserved a place in the upcoming contest. Monday’s audience enjoyed performances by bands including old favourites The Daze along with many newcomers. The Auditions opened with a bang with Everything’s Changing.  The crowd responded enthusiastically to such tunes as Snow Hey Oh, Give It Away, Positions For Foxes, Dragon In The Woodshed, some Pink Floyd, Blink 182 and The Frames. We heard Parisienne Walkways and Cause = Time. Next we move on to Guitarists and singers and were treated to Better Be Home Soon, Layla, Head Over, A Baby for Pree, See You.  

The second day of heats displayed the students talent in areas such as dance, drama and of course music. I Know You By Heart, If I Ain’t Got You, Brown Eyed Girl, I Have a Dream, I Will Always Love You, Heard It Through the Grapevine, House Of The Rising Sun, Greatest Love of All, Lean on me were some of the acts we heard on Tuesday.  We’d a drama entry and some dancing to keep us entertained too! Both Hip-Hop and Irish Dancing were well represented.

On Friday the musicians, dancers, actors and singers met with the judging teachers and shortly afterwards the line-up of the show was announced. The corridors were filled with excitement as crowds of students rushed to find out which acts had secured places in the show.

Well done to all those who took part in the auditions and good luck to everyone who is to perform on the night! All who are lucky enough to attend the show in Draoícht are definitely in for a treat!
