NUI Maynooth Celebrate Coolmine’s Achievements

February 5, 2007

On the first of December, Coolmine hosted an awards ceremony to celebrate the academic achievements of a number of our current Sixth Year students. Mr. John McGinnity from the Admissions Office in NUI Maynooth awarded Certificates of Achievement and cash prizes to seven Sixth Year students in different categories. Each prize reflected the academic faculties of NUI Maynooth, Science, Business, Engineering and Humanities. This academic elite included Keith Anderson, Orla Curran and Kevin Darcy (Business), Robert Kearns and Komal Lakho (Science), David Reilly (Engineering) and Karl McDonald (Humanities).

NUI Maynooth is Coolmine’s number one university destination, with over 30 Leaving Certificate students each year beginning degree courses at the university. Mr. McGinnity commented on how he is consistently impressed with the quality of the students he meets each year from Coolmine Community School. “Coolmine is like a mini university in itself which allows students to strike the right balance between study and student activities.”
