Óga Yóga (Seachtain na Gaeilge 2016)
Óga Yóga came into our school as part of our activities for Seachtain na Gaeilge. A number of classes from 1st-6th year took part. Our Yoga teacher, Ciarán provided us with the mats and began by explaining how we should breath. We were all a little nervous at the beginning particularly those of us who had never done Yoga before. All instructions were given ‘as gaeilge’ and every pose was given its name ‘as gaeilge’ too. It was quiet challenging trying to concentrate on the language, the breathing and the poses.
However, the meditation and the incense helped us all to relax. We all thoroughly enjoyed it and were surprised at some of the positions we were able to get ourselves into. It was a lovely activity to do while improving our language skills.
Óga Yóga will be coming in to us again on 5th May and we are all really looking forward to it.
