San Valentino 2015

May 3, 2015

banner2On the afternoon of Friday 13th February,  very excited second and third year students and some equally excited teachers set out for a week of skiing and adventure in the snow covered peaks of northern Italy.

On arrival at the Hotel we were delighted to be served a wonderful supper of pizza and chips. It was a long first night for the teachers trying to settle the overly excited teenagers. The next morning the tired travellers set about getting their ski equipment ready to start their ski lessons.

The ski lessons were tough but by day two some members of the group were making excellent progress. For others the pull of gravity was just too much and the net at the end of the slope was the only way to stop.

Our week was jam packed with activities like ice-skating, swimming, night-time hiking, a disco and much more. We also had a quiz night.  Following close inspection by Ms. Dunne some of the girl’s outfits for the eagerly anticipated disco required changes. We also took a trip to the closest town of Rovereto to sample some delicious Italian gelato.

After an exhausting, but exhilarating week we woke on Friday morning and set out for Florence where we visited Juliet’s balcony and enjoyed pottering around the street markets of Florence.

The weary voyagers arrived in Dublin safe and sound on Friday night with students eager to see their families. Farewells were said and many new friendships were formed on an unforgettable trip.
