Get Active Week 2015 (27th April – 1st May)
Coolmine Community School ran active week from the 27th of April-1st of May. The aim of the week was to highlight the importance of being active and to get the whole school community moving.
The week began with first year sports day. All students participated in three athletic events and one team sport.
Second years took part in their sports day on Tuesday.
The activity continued on to Wednesday when Coolmine hosted a ‘Dublin 15 School 5km Fun Run’. This event was a huge success with seven schools around the area taking part. Well done to all students who took part and raised money for Pieta House. Congratulations to all participants but especially to Shane Greenhalgh and Sinead NicSheoin who won the race.
Other events held during the week included badminton and volleyball tournaments.
The week showcased the sporting talent that is in Coolmine Community School. The very best of luck to all students who have qualified to represent the school in Santry on the 7th of May.
