Anti-bullying Workshop
Foróige are organising an anti-bullying workshop for students from all the local schools. This is being held on Tuesday February 18th which is during their mid-term. Any interested students can they give me their names to Ms. O’ Hora in C1.
Copper Coin Collection Fund-raise
The first year Student Council are organising a Copper Coin Collection over the next few weeks. All money raised will go towards the St. Vincent De Paul Christmas Appeal. Proceeds can be given to any first year Student Council member or left into Ms. O’ Hora in room C1.
Student Travel & Discount Card
Fifth year Council Members are running the Student Travel & Discount Card. This costs the students €15 but gives good discounts in some of the retail centres in The Blanchardstown Centre. The card is available from room C1.
Comhairle na nOg
Eleven students from the school went to Fingal Comhairle na nOg’s AGM and Consultation day on October 23rd. This is Fingal’s Youth Council and there were representatives from all schools in the Fingal area at this AGM. Young people were consulted on issues that affect them as young people. Comhairle who are elected representaives (12 – 17 years of age) will work on these issues on behalf of the young people. Fund-raise for Philippines Typhoon Disaster
A project is currently being undertaken to raise funds in support of the victims of the recent typhoon in the Philippines. Well done to the members of Coolmine Student Council. They managed to raise €470 from a ‘Bake Sale’ that took place on Friday 29th November 2013. The Irish Red Cross were presented with a cheque on Monday 2nd December 2013.
