A Feast of Coolmine Talent.

September 16, 2010

Now in its ninth year, the singing, musianship, drama and dancing of  ‘A Feast of Coolmine Talent’, ensured two nights of top quality entertainment.

Auditions for the event took place after school over two evenings.  Judges had the difficult task of whittling the forty-five applicant acts down to a final eighteen. Many hours were spent trying to decide which acts should go forward as the standard was very high.

The event retained its traditional format with the successful eighteen acts performing before a panel of judges.  They delivered their verdict at the end of the second night.

The interval acts included the newly formed Coolmine Gospel Choir, a group of young Choristers and last year’s winner James McKeown, currently studying for a degree in Music in Maynooth.

Draìocht is a wonderful theatre and for the students to get an opportunity to perform there is a great experience for them in a myriad of ways. Self-esteem is boosted. Many personal skills such as teamwork, communication, co-operation, problem solving and technical skills are practiced.
