Coolmine Debating Society
March 5, 2009
The Coolmine senior debating team recently entered the Concern debates. The first debate was against John Scottus, Donnybrook where they opposed the motion:
- “GM foods are essential in the fight against world hunger”.
Despite a well researched and constructed debate the team lost the first round, although at the open debate afterwards it was felt they had won the argument. The Coolmine senior debating team will face Drimnagh in the next motion:
- “The Bebo generation care little for the developing world”.
We wish the team every success!
The debating society meet every Friday and Monday. Motions are proposed on Fridays and debated on Mondays. Interested students should speak to Mr. O’Reilly or Ms. O’Connor.
