School Tour
Each year Second Year students are given an opportunity to travel abroad on the annual school tour. Students have visited a number of European countries over the years. The tour provides a valuable cultural experience for students and is one of the highlights of their time in our school. In February 2009 a number Coolmine students will be jetting off to the ski slopes of San Valentino in Italy. For further information click here.
Christmas Concert
The First Year Concert is a long-standing tradition in the school. Each first year class gets the opportunity to perform on stage and full class participation is encouraged. It is a night packed with entertainment and the stuff memories are made of. To see highlights of the 2007 concert click here.

A Barnardos children’s party, table quizzes, soccer leagues, charity fund raising events are just a few examples of the valuable work done by members of An Chomhairle.
The Meitheal
This is a group of Fifth Year students who volunteer to work with our new First Years every year. This group of about forty Fifth Years assist with First Year Orientation day and act as mentors and friends to our First Years as they settle into the routine of Coolmine. They also assist the Ceann Tí in organising events throughout First Year. Click here for a sample of Meitheal events.
Choir
One of the most recent developments in Coolmine has been the establishment of a School Choir at both junior and senior level. It is a measure of their success that they have enhanced many school occasions, performed in Blanchardstown Centre and recorded their own CD.
School Radio
Cool FM was established in 1988 and it is the only school radio in Ireland. It goes on air every Friday at lunchtime. Fifth year students research, produce and present each programme under the guidance of one of their teachers. Over the years it has been supported by 2FM, 98FM and FM104.
Other activities on offer are Charity Fundraising, Debating, Slógadh, Drama, Science / Mathematics Olympiads, Music recitals, Study Skills Programmes, and Personal Development Programmes. |
